Little Update

Facts about me, Life Update

I am very sorry for my absence the past days. My life has been difficult lately and I lost all motivation to write and to read as well. As you can imagine, I’m in the worst reading slump ever imagined with no posibilities to get out. I’ve tried reading everything, even short books,  but nothing seems to catch my attention.

In other news, this site turns 1 year in a couple of days. I wanted to do something special, but life often happens, so I have no idea and no motivation at all. I was thinking about a 24 hour “readathon” and write down my progress here or maybe a funny tag, yet it requieres plannification… Again, I’m not in the mood.

Yesterday I decided to change the blog’s theme, though, I kinda like it, but let me know what you think. To comment you have to click on the post’s title in order to like it or comment.

I’m trying to read “Kill all Happies” now, but I’m not liking it, because it ridicules people with OCD in some parts and as a person with an OCD, I can’t tolerate it. Why does people think is funny to make jokes about those kind of conditions? I mean I know we have to take life on the funny side sometimes, but that is just intorelable.

Anyway, please let me know if you want me to do something special to celebrate my blog’s anniversary. Please feel free to give some ideas. Also let me know if you like the new theme.

Thanks For reading my sad post🖤 I hope to feel better soon…

Anything but books Tag.

Facts about me, Meet the Blogger, Tags

Hi guys I was watching Emilija last video on youtube, you may know her on instgram by the username @coffechatter and she was tagged to the “Anything but Books” tag, I said Tag twice, OMG, and I keep saying it.

Aaaanyway I thought it would be fun, even If I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but surprise! I scrolled down and she tagged everyone who read the description of the video, so here I am doing my very first Tag of my entire life, which is not about books. Here we go…

1. Name a Cartoon that you love.

Well, I have a lot of cartoons that I love (I still watch Cartoons) so, mmm, Adventure time, Charlie Brown, Spongebob, Dexter’s Lab, Regular Show just to say something. When I’m not reading I’m laying down in my bed watching cartoons. Do I have to grow up? giphy-downsized.gif

2. What is your favorite song right now?

The holographic Principle from Epica. I’m a metalhead…

I think you may be surprised by that… Mmm but I have a very active imagination and I can’t help it! Don’t be scared, it just happens on my mind, and guess what? I still have friends, so I’m not too Psychotic!

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch Book Review (Spoiler Free)

Book Review, TBR

Goodreads Synopsis.

“Are you happy with your life?” Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the masked abductor knocks him unconscious. Before he awakens to find himself strapped to a gurney, surrounded by strangers in hazmat suits. Before a man Jason’s never met smiles down at him and says, “Welcome back, my friend.”

In this world he’s woken up to, Jason’s life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics professor but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable–something impossible.

Is it this world or the other that’s the dream? And even if the home he remembers is real, how can Jason possibly make it back to the family he loves? The answers lie in a journey more wondrous and horrifying than anything he could’ve imagined—one that will force him to confront the darkest parts of himself even as he battles a terrifying, seemingly unbeatable foe.

My opinion.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! This book is sooooooo brain-breaking (I don’t know if that’s a word). This book is… I don’t know how to start this review so let’s say that it reminded me a lot about The holographic Principle (google it! It’s very interesting) and if you read Dark Matter and make some reasearch about String theory and Holographic Principle you will definitely understand what happens in this book.

It is mindblowing since the beginning until the end, the plot is fascinating, captivating; you would never want to get out of this book (or maybe if you’re in Jason Dessen’s shoes I think you would). Of course there will be some moments when you will say WTF I’m reading! But it worths the “brain fracture”.

At some points we question ourselves: Is this the life I really wanted for me? Did I made the right decisions? Well, this book made me think we must stop asking those questions, we must live, enjoy our love ones, enjoy the life we have and work for the goals we always wanted to achieve.

The characters, the plot, every little particle comprising Dark Matter is meticulously well done. It seems Crouch has made a lot of research to end up doing such a great work of art.

As always, here are some quotes that caught my attention and I want to share with you all:

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious”. Einstein.

“How horrifying infinity really is”.

“When you write something, you focus your full attention on it. It’s almost imposible to write one thing while thinking about another. The act of putting it on paper keeps your thoughts and intentions aligned”.

Finally, I recommend this book to everyone who wants to blow their mind away, for sure, it will.
