Reading Habits Book Tag

Meet the Blogger, Tags

Hallo! I’m glad to be alive and writing this post today. On my last post I told you that hurricaine Irma would be passing near my country and it was a horrific day I’m forced to remember again because again we’re in hurricaine Maria’s path, so it continues… 😬

But, anyway, I’m not here to talk about bad news, as you can see the title I decided to do a new tag. This one I saw it in the blog of the lovely Rachael here. Let’s start…

1. Do you have a certain place in home for reading?

I read in my room or in the couch. But specially on my bed with my fairy lights on πŸ™‚

2. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?

Who doesn’t prefer bookmarks?!

3. Can you stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

Well, I can stop reading, but I also have to stop at some times. For example if my mother comes to my room and want to talk exactly when I’m reading… 😬

4. Do you eat or drink whilst reading?

I drink coffee most of the time, or it could be hot cocoa too πŸ˜‰

5. Multitasking: Music or TV whilst reading?

Soft Jazz or piano. NO TV…

6. One book at a time or several?

Just one. I need to focus on what I’m reading. I’ve tried to read more than one book at once but I had to stop it.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere! I always carry my current read wherever I go.

8. Read out loud or silently in your heard?

Silently in my head πŸ˜‰

9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?

Ahead.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Who in the name of God would break the spine of a book?! Really, does that happens?Β

11. Do you write in your books?

I used to do it, but not now.

That was all from me peeps! Thanks for reading ❀

When Marnie was there book impressions

Book Review, Favorite Readings, TBR

Hi there human beings! I decided to write a short review about this book because I thought it was too good to not write about it. Have you heard the title before? If not, then you have a new book to add to your TBR list.

Goodreads Synopsis.

Anna lives with foster parents, a misfit with no friends, always on the outside of things. Then she is sent to Norfolk to stay with old Mr and Mrs Pegg, where she runs wild on the sand dunes and around the water. There is a house, the Marsh House, which she feels she recognises – and she soon meets a strange little girl called Marnie, who becomes Anna’s first ever friend. Then one day, Marnie vanishes. A new family, the Lindsays, move into the Marsh House. Having learnt so much from Marnie about friendship, Anna makes firm friends with the Lindsays – and learns some strange truths about Marnie, who was not all she seemed…Β

My opinion.

As a big fan of Studio Ghibli, when I first heard about “When Marnie was there” it was because of the movie adaptation they made. At that moment, I did not know it was a book. So I spoiled myself because I already knew what was going to happen in the end.

This is a very beautiful story, not just the book, but the movie too. Hiromasa Yonebayashi captured the very strong points of the book, leaving just a few details behind. In my opinion, one of the best movies by Studio Ghibli, besides Miyazaki’s movies.

As for the book, I felt identified with Anna’s feelings of solitude. She excluded herself from the world, rejecting to show any type of emotions and thinking the worst about herself. I know it may sound familiar to some of us, because we may feel the same way. But maybe it could be because of a distorted point of view of ourselves.

This book is one of my favorites from this year. I recommend to you all to take a look at this wonderful and touching story.IMG_20170827_093342_489[1]

Bookish facts about me… Meet the blogger

Facts about me, Life Update, Meet the Blogger

Hi guys. It seems these days I have enough time to write posts and read more books and I’m going to enjoy every second of it, because you know, everything could change in a matter of hours. I’ll start working on saturday and who knows if I’ll be able to post as much as I would like.

This post it is special to me to write because I’d love to share with you a top five of reading rituals and bookish facts about me. I just want you to know the blogger behing the blog a little bit more… So, let’s start:

  1. I cannot read without a cup of coffee by my side and a soft Jazz music on the background. It is capital for me to do this, because I couldn’t concentrate on my book. It helps me with my anxiety too. But there are exceptions like, when I have to go to the doctor or take a long trip in a bus.Β giphy
  2. A bookish ritual that I have it’s that I have to like EACH AND EVERY picture on bookstagram. Since I wake up, I’m looking photos of my favorite bookstagrammers. This is an illness I guess -_- I can’t stop during the day, it is just a bad sign if I don’t do it…Β giphy (1)
  3. I love reading and taking pictures in the park. It’s a kind of therapy…giphy (2)
  4. I don’t have a bookshelf, but I hope that will change soon! That’s a sad story, please a minute of silence… Well, I do have a bookshelf but, it isn’t very “booked”.giphy-downsized (1).gif
  5. I can’t leave a book once I started reading it. Well I once stopped reading a book, but it was just because it was unbereable for me, It was altering my nerves and I decided to skip reading. For me that it’s not legal, but, sometimes you can change your rituals.Β giphy (3)That was all for me today, Thanks for reading and until next time…
